Al-An'am

Surah 6 • Ayah 42 of 165

وَ لَقَد اَرسَلنَا اِلٰی اُمَمٍ مِّن قَبلِکَ فَاَخَذنٰہُم بِالبَاسَآءِ وَ الضَّرَّآءِ لَعَلَّہُم یَتَضَرَّعُونَ ۝٤٢

6:42

And We have already sent [messengers] to nations before you, [O Muhammad]; then We seized them with poverty and hardship that perhaps they might humble themselves [to Us].

Arabic: وَ لَقَدۡ اَرۡسَلۡنَاۤ اِلٰۤی اُمَمٍ مِّنۡ قَبۡلِکَ فَاَخَذۡنٰہُمۡ بِالۡبَاۡسَآءِ وَ الضَّرَّآءِ لَعَلَّہُمۡ یَتَضَرَّعُوۡنَ ﴿۴۲﴾

Translation: And We have already sent [messengers] to nations before you, [O Muhammad]; then We seized them with poverty and hardship that perhaps they might humble themselves [to Us].

Roman Urdu Translation

Aur hum ney aur ummaton ki taraf bhi jo kay aap say pehlay guzar chuki hain payghumbar bhejay thay so hum ney unn ko tangdasti aur beemari say pakra takay woh izhar-e-ijz ker saken.
